I can say this with the utmost certainty….. my husband has one speed when I ask him to do something, and it is blood boiling. I love him to death don’t get me wrong but when you work at ‘mom speed’ all day everyday and then someone comes back into your space and into your routine (HA) with ONE pace…. nope!
I do try to cut him some slack though, I am a hardcore micro manager and I know I need to just sit back and let the cards fall where they will…. but the term easier said than done is no joke if you’re a professional nitpicker!
I like things done my way and over the past couple years I have gotten much better at sitting back biting my tongue and then appreciating the fact that 1. It not only got done but I didn’t have to do it and 2. I’m not in this on my own anymore so I need to suck it up and let him help me out.
But holy (s) HIT I can do about 9 different things while he focuses on one task and sometimes that is so frustrating! But he puts up with me so for that I am thankful, also I know it drives him nuts when I just insert myself into something he’s doing and completely rework it.
But the amount of times I’ve considered getting him hearing aids is alarming. I’m one hundred percent sure he has selective hearing but I can’t prove it so….. again I love him to death but one of these days I am probably going to have a stroke.
I definitely need to find a way to politely tell him he’s driving me nuts!
